Specialist Training
Overseas Rescue Dogs
Specialist support for dogs with complex backgrounds — because every rescue deserves a chance to thrive.
Overseas rescue dogs are unique
Overseas rescue dogs are wonderful, resilient animals — but they are genuinely unique. Unlike dogs bred and raised in the UK, they have often spent their early lives on the streets, in shelters, or in environments very different from a British home. That background shapes everything: how they perceive the world, how they respond to people, and how they cope with everyday life.
Many overseas rescues arrive with complex behavioural challenges that are easily misunderstood. Fear-based reactivity, resource guarding, hyper-vigilance, difficulty settling, or shutting down completely — these are not signs of a 'bad' dog. They are the natural responses of an animal trying to make sense of a completely new world.
The good news? With the right support, patience, and science-based training, these dogs can — and do — flourish.
Romanian Rescue Pro Trainer
I am a qualified Romanian Rescue Pro Trainer with The Dog's POV — a specialist programme designed specifically for the unique challenges that Romanian and other overseas rescue dogs present.
This qualification means I understand the specific behavioural patterns common in overseas rescues: the street-dog survival instincts, the kennel stress responses, the fear of novel environments, and the trust-building journey that every rescue dog needs. I don't apply a one-size-fits-all approach — I work with your dog's individual history and personality.
